About Transtar
Transtar was founded by Richard Miller in 1987 and has a proven track record of commanding above-market occupancy and lease rates in multi-tenant business parks, office buildings and retail centers in Southern California.

Transtar's ability to attract and keep top quality personnel has enabled Transtar to successfully outperform other management companies. Richard Miller and Sarah Crain have worked together since 1990 and bring consistency, stability and a wealth of expertise to the properties they manage.
Richard Miller

President and CEO

After graduating from Pepperdine University with a degree in Business Administration in 1976, Richard joined Cushman-Wakefield as a commercial broker in 1981 and was active in the Orange County marketplace with an emphasis on the South Orange County market. After three years with Cushman-Wakefield, followed by three years as an acting regional manager for a national development company, he started Transtar Property Management in 1987.

Richard's varied background in commercial brokerage, investment acquisitions and dispositions as well as property management give him perspective that will be invaluable overseeing the management and leasing of any portfolio. His expertise in property management and leasing has been recognized by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). He has spoken at their national convention and has had several articles published in their magazine.
Sarah Crain

Chief Financial Officer

Sarah is a graduate of Ashland College. Sarah began her Transtar career in 1990 and has specialized in owner financial services. She is proficient with property management software packages including Skyline and MRI. Through her experience with the property management software packages and various spreadsheet programs, Sarah has been instrumental in developing systems which increase both efficiency and accuracy in the financial reporting and budgeting areas.
Robert Tapper

Property Manager and Director of Marketing

Robert is the property manager and Director of Marketing at Transtar.  He began his real estate career in the 1980's, obtained his CA real estate license and began managing both residential and commercial properties throughout Southern California.

In the early 1990's, he was the Commercial Marketing Manager for a major financial institution, performing market research on bank-owned (REO) properties.  Most recently, Robert honed his marketing and new technology skills in both desktop publishing and the Internet.  Today, his creativity and technical abilities enable him to tackle the many challenges that face property owners as real estate moves into the 21st Century. He has proven himself to be a flexible, organized, detail-oriented professional that can easily adapt to most any situation on behalf of the real estate owner.
